Adoptions

Types of Adoption

Here at JWC we have two main types of adoption for our dogs and puppies. The first is a “Standard Adoption”. This is what most people typically think of when they want to go about adopting a new dog. The second type of adoption is a “Guardian Home Adoption” which is where the dog is placed into a family setting to be treated as a pet while still being maintained as a potential breeding option in our lines.

We do occasionally also offer “Co-Own Adoptions” which is where the dog is yours but we have the option to use as stud, or we may want a puppy back from a future litter. If you may be interested in this type of adoption please reach out to us directly to discuss.

Standard Adoption

This type of adoption is a normal, purchase type, of adoption. Once you have the dog or puppy, it is yours and that is it. We do offer lifetime support for the dog, so if you adopt from us and need something, never hesitate to reach out and ask.

All pups require at deposit to hold the pup until time of pickup. This is typically around 25% of the total adoption fee.

All pups have an adoption contract that must be signed at pickup.

Guardian Home Adoption

A Guardian Home (GH) Adoption through JWC gives you the opportunity to have an amazing dog join your family at little to no cost for the dog itself. This program allows us to place potential future breeding dogs into pet homes where they are able to live their best lives and be a spoiled member of a loving family. Generally we place puppies into GHs but occasionally we do have young or older adults available as well.

A GH dog is your dog in all the ways that matter and with the added benefit of regular check-ins to ensure everything is going well with your new dog or to offer assistance as needed.

Key Information:

  • There is a refundable deposit or drastically lowered adoption fee for all GH dogs.

  • We require a home inspection (video chat or in person).

  • We require vet confirmation (phone call).

  • You are responsible for the care and well being of the GH dog.

  • We will pay for any genetic health testing that may be needed prior to breeding.

  • You must keep the dog intact (cannot spay/neuter) until the contract has been completed.

  • GH contracts are typically 2-3 years long. After the contract is completed, the dog remains with you under a standard adoption contract.

  • You are not allowed to breed the dog yourself without prior permission.

  • Female dogs will remain with us for whelping.

  • Upon contract completion, JWC will pay for a spay/neuter unless otherwise negotiated.

  • GH Adopters (you) are entitled to 10% of gross puppy sales of puppies produced by your dog. This is our way of saying Thank You.
